Historical Jhenai River Bank. Next to it, 201 domed mosques have been built in a natural and beautiful environment. The whole mosque is on about 271 percent of the land. On the inner wall of the mosque, the entire 30 verses of the Quran are engraved in brass. The 99 names of Allah are glittering in golden brass on the wall of the mosque near the main gate.

The mosque is built in the village of Dakshin Pathalia of Nagada Shimla Union of Gopalpur Upazila of Tangail. 50 maunds of brass have been used to create the beauty of the mosque. All modern tiles and stones have been brought from different countries including China and Italy.

Tourists from the country and abroad have started coming to see the beautiful mosque. Its specialized floor tiles absorb the outside temperature and keep the floor cool. There is a modern lighting system. The entire mosque premises are under the control of CCTV cameras. Tourists can enjoy the beauty of the mosque while walking around in safety.

A helipad has been constructed on an area of ​​18 bighas around the mosque. Apart from this, sufficient space for car parking has also been arranged here. So, there is no worry about keeping vehicles on village roads. All in all, it has become one of the tourist centers due to the coming and going of people from all walks of life.

A five-storied building is being built here next to the mosque. It is known that there will be free treatment. There will be orphanages, old age homes, a large-scale rehabilitation center for distressed freedom fighters and their families, libraries, religious research centers based on Quran and Sunnah, technical and IT training for unemployed youth.

According to the construction authority of the mosque, despite the expenditure of more than 100 crore rupees, the construction work of the mosque is slowly progressing towards completion with the efforts of people from many professions. So far more than 80 percent construction work has been completed. Although not officially inaugurated, five daily prayers, Juma prayers on Fridays and Eid prayers are held here every year.

How to go

The distance of the mosque from Tangail Sadar is about 50 km, and Gopalpur upazila Sadar is only 7 km. So first go to Tangail. Then from there to Gopalpur upazila. After that, you can easily go to 201 Dome Mosque by autorickshaw.

Generally, one can go to Tangail from Dhaka or nearby districts during the day and return within the night. However, if you want to stay overnight, there are several good quality hotels and resorts in Tangail and Elenga. You can stay at Water Garden Resort, Yamuna Resort, Elenga Resort, Elenga Resort Limited, VIP Hotel and Hotel Prince etc. Apart from this, the neighboring upazila Dhanbari can also stay in the Nawab Palace. Accommodation is also available in Madhupur and Ghatail.
