Travel to 117 countries in a wheelchair!

Renee Bruns (38) has traveled to 7 continents and 117 countries. He worked in an insurance company. Renee has been in a wheelchair since the age of seven due to medical malpractice. He spent some time in his life in the US with his mother for medical treatment. Since then, he developed a love for travel.

Rini’s dream is to visit every member country of the United Nations. He has already visited more than half of the 195 countries. By the age of 16, Renee had traveled to all 50 states of the United States. Traveling is a challenge for Rini. Because many countries do not provide accommodation for people with disabilities.

Rini loves interacting with locals wherever she goes. “I always try to find a local person at a restaurant or hotel and spend a few hours with them,” Rini told CNN Travel.

The Covid-19 pandemic has changed Rini’s perspective. According to him, ‘Life can be taken away from us very quickly.’ Then he left the job in May 2022. In the same month, he moved to Indonesia.

Rini uses Instagram to document her travel stories. He has a blog called ‘Wheels Travels’.

Rini recently held the Guinness World Record for the highest number of countries traveled in a wheelchair in one year
